Safety Policy

At NSDI, the safety and well-being of our debaters are our utmost priority. We understand that creating a safe learning environment is essential for effective education. The safety policies outlined here serve as a foundation for what you can expect during your time at the camp. They will expand in the coming months.

Every counselor and instructor undergoes rigorous background checks and verification procedures to guarantee their suitability for leading. Moreover, all communication is routed through camp-wide Slack channels or involves at least two counselors, ensuring transparency and oversight. To enhance accountability and safety, all Zoom interactions are recorded. Upon registration, participants must provide backup information from trusted adults or institutions, along with parental contact details.
